In February 1944, the press reported the arrival of Emilio Bello as manager. With gymnastic roots, in the 1943-1944 season he came close to returning Levante to the Second Division after winning the Third Division Group V Championship with unquestionable superiority. Barakaldo knocked Levante out of the promotion race in the final match of the promotion play-off.
