The memory remains indelible in the memory of all the different groups that make up the Levantines. The day of 23 October 2011 was a radiant one. The Granta expedition travelled to Castellón on Sunday morning to face the immediate hours before the league opener against Villarreal. It was not just another game. The combination of results that day, especially Barcelona’s draw against Almería, meant that Juan Ignacio Martínez’s Levante would take on Villarreal with the firm possibility of taking the top spot in the Primera División standings.

The Blue and Reds had to converge with the victory to take over at the top of the table. The night germinated between dreams and chimeras that finally materialised on the pitch. Goals from Juanlu, twice, and Koné lifted Levante to the top of the table in the top flight. The Granota fans became a fundamental bastion in the heroic achievement. Their encouragement was palpable and decisive in the Villarreal coliseum. In this video we remember and pay tribute to the fans who travelled to Villarreal in a match full of magic 12 years after that unforgettable event.
