The inscription is revealing. The trophy accredits Levante as champions of the National League Championship in Segunda División B Group III. However, a doubt remains as there is no trace of the chronology. Levante wore the laurel wreath that invests the champion in two consecutive seasons. The 1994-1995 and 1995-1996 seasons ended with the Granta side looking over the horizon from the top of the Segunda División B Group III standings.
In 1988-1989 Levante were promoted as champions to Segunda A, although in that season they played in Group IV. That aspect is decisive in ruling out this possibility. Juande Ramos’ side challenged themselves at the start of the 1994-1995 season by setting the number of consecutive victories in the competition at thirteen.
The clash against Girona at the Ciutat (2-2) ended an unblemished streak. Levante were crowned champions many days before the end of the league season. That team crashed out in the promotion play-offs against El Ecija in a heartbreaking encounter. A year later, the same thing happened again. The squad led by Carlos Simón was projected into the world of the regularity championship. Their dominance was absolute.
As champions, they were thirteen points ahead of Nàstic de Tarragona, their closest challengers. Levante achieved the challenge of promotion in the third promotion campaign in a row. The success materialised in the match against Racing Ferrol at the Ciutat. Pascual and Lucas were the scorers in a historic match (2-0).
