Levante U.D. faced the penultimate day of the league season with the hope and desire to continue making history. After an exciting first half of the season, the objectives had changed and the main aim was to continue to leave their mark on the Spanish top flight.
The milestone had to be achieved at Montilivi, home of the Girona side. Levante U.D. could not risk a First Division place; moreover, the Ciutat de València and the fans deserved a farewell to the season in style, without any surprises or superfluous emotions that could spoil a well-deserved party.
Aitor Fernández conceded a goal in the second half of the match, but an incredible save from Stuani in the first few minutes of the game served to awaken the spirit of the fans, which was clearly reflected in the achievement of the longed-for permanence.
The goalkeeper not only kept Levante’s goal safe, but also allowed all Levante fans to continue to dream and have new aspirations for a new season in the top flight. The gloves, effectively used, are the notorious proof of the necessary efforts made to achieve the goal.
